Five Ingredient Veggie Burger
Simple black bean burgers with only five main ingredients, perfect for a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients
- 2 cups no salt added black beans, drained and liquid reserved
- 1 medium onion-quartered
- ½ cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 2 teaspoons chile powder
- Salt and pepper
- 4 100% whole wheat hamburger buns, split and toasted
- Romaine lettuce
- 1 large tomato sliced
- 4 red onion slices
- Condiments of your choosing
Instructions
- 1In a food processor combine the first 5 ingredients through chili powder. Pulse until chunky but NOT pureed.
- 2Add a small amount of reserved bean liquid, if the mixture seems dry or is not sticking together. The mixture should be moist but NOT wet. Season with S&P.
- 3With wet hands, shape mixture into four 3½ inch patties. Chill at least 20 minutes.
- 4In a large nonstick skillet cook burgers over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes or until burgers are lightly browned and cooked through, turning only once.
- 5Serve burgers on hamburger buns of your choice.
- 6Add lettuce, tomato, and onion slices and condiments if using.
