A Rebellious Aging Guide to Dressing Like YOU Mean It

    By Suzanne

I could be wrong here, but I believe there comes a moment in a woman’s life, somewhere between wisdom gained and patience lost, when she realizes something powerful. She realizes she no longer needs permission to look and feel incredible. Welcome to that moment.

As Rebellious Agers, we are rewriting outdated ideas about how women of any age should dress, let alone women our age. But let’s stick to us for now. This chapter of life calls loudly for mischief, mystery, confidence, maybe a little bling and a wardrobe that reflects YOU and says here I am in the best possible way.

The way that makes you feel awesome and know that, that awesomeness and confidence is catchy. Here is how I am looking at style right now.

    My rebellious style reminders

    • Wear what makes your soul hum. If it lifts your energy and makes you smile, it belongs on you.
    • DON’T dress to disappear. Presence is in. Shrinking is out.
    • Absolutely claim a signature piece. Statement glasses, bold earrings, a scarf or wrap that sings—whatever it is, choose it and wear it.
    • Please do not follow every trend. Remember trends are suggestions not requirements.
    • Do play with color. Color is medicine for the soul. Allow it to wake up your spirit.
    • Do NOT apologize for being seen. You are not too much. You are exactly perfect and a smile to the world.
    • Do choose comfort AND style. Yes they go together. Figure it out. Comfort is the new luxury, and it belongs to you.
    • Do not save outfits for special occasions. You are no longer in kindergarten. Wear the clothes NOW. You are the occasion.
    • Don’t ignore fit. Tailoring is magic. Let your clothes honor your body.
    • Do trust your mirror. And your intuition. (WYKYK)

Fashion is not vanity, it is expression AND identity. It is declaring without a doubt that YOU ARE HERE. YOU ARE VIBRANT. AND THAT YOU ARE NOT DONE SHINING.

To me Rebellious Aging means showing up as the fullest and most authentic version of ourselves. Unapologetically, courageously, and always with sparkle.

    Hugs,

    Suz xo
