    What is Behind Limiting Beliefs?

    The voices that taunt us, saying things like you are too old, or you are not enough, or you'll fail, or they are going to laugh at you, are not a mystical curse.

    The Brain's Built in Alarm System
            We evolved to survive, not to shine. Your brain's primary job is to detect threats, like embarrassment, failure, or rejection. So when you think about doing something bold or unfamiliar (like starting a YouTube channel at 83) your brain may shout out, hold on, stay safe. This is just your amygdala doing its job. Helpful?     The Inner Critic is a Learned Voice
            Most of those critical thoughts are formed in childhood and reinforced over time. Psychologists call this internalized messaging, ideas you absorbed from your parents, teachers, peers, media and society. Messages like, don't draw attention to yourself, act your age, you are not the creative one. These become part of your subconscious belief system, repeated so often they feel like truth. But they are not true or even close. They are simply just well worn-mental grooves.

    Your subconscious belief systems are deeply ingrained, often unexamined, and can significantly influence thoughts, behaviors, and even physical health. These beliefs, formed in early childhood and beyond, operate largely outside of conscious awareness and can drive actions, shape interpretations of experiences and create self limiting patterns.     Default Mode Network (DMN)
           This is the brain network that lights up when you are not focused on a task. Like when you are daydreaming, remembering, or self reflecting. It is also where self critical chatter can thrive. When the DMN is overactive, it can fuel anxious or negative inner dialogue.

    Good news? Practices like mindfulness, journaling, and cognitive reframing help quiet this network and strengthen more empowering thoughts.

    Bottom Line:
    Those taunting voices in your head are a mix of subconscious programming, outdated survival wiring, and cultural conditioning. THEY ARE NOT YOU. You are the observer, the awareness, the Rebel who gets to decide which thoughts are welcome and WHICH NEED TO PACK THEIR BAGS AND MOVE ON.
